Lost Era - Morning Howard Street Corridor

As Fall wanes to the coming Winter the early morning sun warms this corner of Howard Street on Chicago's North side. As an artist in the urban setting I look to contrast the urban environment with everyday beauty of nature. Struck by the isolation of this once lively urban landscape during the Fall of 2020, I captured the warmth and long shadows of the morning sun in warm values and cool glazes. The beautifully rendered clock and namesake antique store housed in this turn of the century building stand as a testament to a "Lost Era".
