Amongst the Grandeur

Painted from a plein air study from Yosemite. While there are epic views everywhere this little gem of a cottonwood sapling reflected in a high alpine lake stole the show for me. Something intimate and sweet about this moment...so many grand mountains I could have painted that day, but, but the light on cotton wood spoke to me. Sometimes it's the small things that grab us with their simple beauty!
