The Three Muses of the Canyon

This is a colorful interpretation of a scene I experienced many years ago while visiting the very special Canyon de Chelly of the Navajo people. The little truck full of people was jokingly called a "shake 'n bake" for the tourists, because it was a very bumpy ride and it was, well, hot! The rider next to the truck is a Navajo man who is visiting with the guide driving the truck while the tourists... bake. Fortunately, my friend and I were in our own vehicle which, being a 4WD, was allowed to be driven for us by a Navajo guide who took us on a private tour of the canyon floor.
