Santa Elena Canyon Morning

This is a view I had on a recent trip to the Big Bend National Park with my adult daughter. Santa Elena Canyon, with the Rio Grande flowing through it, divides Mexico -on the right side of this view- from the U.S., where I hiked to this shore on the right. This is pretty much as far as one can enter the canyon on foot, as the sheer cliff walls close in, leaving no footing, just beyond this spot. I loved how the far cliff, where the river turned a corner, caught the morning light and sent it dancing on the water.
