Coastal Path

Inspired by a walk in Gulf Islands National Seashore on an Autumn afternoon, this painting shows the afternoon light illuminating the coastal woods in patterns of light and dark, rich in Autumn warmth. This oil painting is a larger version of a 12x16. In it, I sought to explore more deeply the colors, textures and light of the coastal forest, and to create the feeling for the viewer of being able to walk into the scene.
