Inner Glow

I used soft pastels on paper. My goal for this piece was to capture a mood through the use of color temperature and atmospheric perspective. I wanted to use the very warm, extremely bright lights, as a stark contrast to the foggy, cold, neutral surroundings. I wanted this painting to be a metaphor for our times, to help us remember, that even in the presence of gray and gloom, there will be a bright, shiny glimmer of light.
