THis was a tiny pochade painting at the end of a cold snowy day. I was about to pack up as I was colsd to the bone and no sooner had I put my gear away , I saw the snow looking a dazzling pink. It took me a couple of seconds to realise it was reflected light from the sky and I couldnt get my gear out quick enough. Having made the mistake many times before oif choosing too big a panel that time of day I grabbed a tiny 6 x 8 and did a quick 2 minute thumb nail to work out the composition. I worked furiously to get it down and the last 10/15 minutes finishing it off were from memory. Im pleased with this little studay and I m happy that I got down the colour as accyrately and quickly as I could. Im also please with ethe some waht unusual composition which I hope the viewer will find to be dynamic. Right at the end Id ecided to put the small triangle fence in on the bottom right handside to act as a compostional device to lead the viewers eye in. It was there but two fields to the right and outof the picture plane. I also thought the bright pink light in the distance was a gift to draw the viewers eye through the picture. I hope you like it!
