“Change”

This painting depicts Lane Street in Blissfield, Michigan. My Home. I wanted to capture that sort of nostalgic feeling you get from seeing an old, small town downtown stretch. The buildings seem to be merely artifacts now in a new time. I like to imagine them as they were in their prime, being used for their intended service. I can still hear the street buzzing with sounds of daily life. People are making their morning greetings on their way to work. Kids are making their way to school by foot. It was a life of simplicity. A communal life. I long for it.
